Latest update on my Fundraising efforts on behalf of the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre

Together we can keep the Death Railway Museum Alive!

A massive heartfelt huge thank you to everyone who has supported my fundraising efforts. Having never mounted a fundraising campaign in my life setting up a crowdfunding page was a real step outside my comfort zone!

Family, friends, and fellow teachers plus my lovely pupils all joined my first fundraising event ‘Sandra’s Alexander Worldwide Lie in/Sit in’ which took place in July 2021.  This started the ball rolling with donations also coming from many others who were unable to join in on the day. Thank you so much everyone!

A special mention must also go to the Trustees and members of Children of Far East Prisoners of War (COFEPOW) as the following month found me at the National Memorial Arboretum making a personal appeal to a room full of Members and Trustees. We all came together to commemorate and celebrate VJ Day 76.

This was my first ever ‘public speaking’ event.  I’m thrilled to say it was a resounding success and the resulting donations ensured that I doubled my original fundraising target!  See my ‘Alexander Adventures’ for news of how it felt to be standing up there in front of everyone.
